Outdoor Intel

About Outdoor Intel

Practical intelligence for every Canadian outdoor adventure — from ice fishing in February to backcountry hiking in September.

What We Do

Outdoor Intel is a free, bilingual resource that covers 499 outdoor spots across Canada's provinces and territories. We focus on the details that actually matter when you're planning a trip: how to get there, where to park, what official rules apply, and what to check before you go.

No vague rankings, no hidden sourcing. Just Canadian outdoor intelligence that gets clearer as each page is verified.

What We Cover

How We Work

Verification Labels

Every spot now carries a verification status, confidence label, official source URL, and regulation or planning link. Pages marked needs review should be treated as planning leads, not final authority.

Official Sources First

Regulations, permits, access rules, closures, and safety details should point to official government, park, resort, conservation, or operator sources whenever possible.

Bilingual Coverage

Every spot and directory page is available in both English and French. Canada is a bilingual country — an outdoor reference for Canadians should be too.

Trust & Corrections

The full source policy, correction process, affiliate disclosure, and verification labels live on the Trust & Sources page.

The Team

Outdoor Intel is built and maintained in the Ottawa–Gatineau region. We spend our weekends on the same lakes, trails, and mountains we write about.
