Outdoor Intel

About Outdoor Intel

Practical intelligence for every Canadian outdoor adventure — from ice fishing in February to backcountry hiking in September.

What We Do

Outdoor Intel is a free, bilingual resource that covers 499+ outdoor spots across every Canadian province and territory. We focus on the details that actually matter when you're planning a trip: how to get there, where to park, what regulations apply, what gear you need, and what to expect on the ground.

No fluff, no sponsored rankings. Just field-tested intelligence for fishing, hunting, camping, kayaking, skiing, and hiking.

What We Cover

How We Work

Field-Tested Intel

Our spot profiles include practical details gathered from real visits: parking lot sizes, cell coverage, water conditions, and the kind of gear that actually works in Canadian weather. We test it, then we write about it.

Government Data

Our Quebec fishing database uses open data from Données Québec, the provincial government's official data portal. Species presence, mercury advisories, and fishing status come directly from government sources.

Bilingual Coverage

Every spot and directory page is available in both English and French. Canada is a bilingual country — an outdoor reference for Canadians should be too.

The Team

Outdoor Intel is built and maintained in the Ottawa–Gatineau region. We spend our weekends on the same lakes, trails, and mountains we write about.
